WASHINGTON, April 7, 2026 — Blood Cancer United®(formerly The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) has been named one of the inaugural Best Companies for Working with Cancer, a national recognition from Cancer and Careers, the leading authority on navigating cancer and work. Blood Cancer United is among 17 organizations recognized for setting a high standard in supporting employees impacted by cancer and other serious health conditions.
The Best Companies for Working with Cancer Index is the first employer ranking of its kind. Developed by Cancer and Careers in partnership with independent research firm BEYOND Insights, the Index evaluates employers on benefits, policies, workplace culture, and resources that support employees navigating cancer, and measures them against priorities identified by people directly affected.
“We’re incredibly proud to be named one of the inaugural Best Companies for Working with Cancer,” said Michael Constantine, Blood Cancer United SVP, Total Rewards, Operations, & Strategy. “Supporting patients and families impacted by blood cancers is at the heart of Blood Cancer United’s mission, and that commitment starts with how we care for our own employees. This recognition reflects our team’s focus on building a workplace grounded in wellness, flexibility, and compassion for those facing cancer.”
The recognition underscores Blood Cancer United’s commitment to creating a supportive, flexible work environment that acknowledges the realities of serious illness, caregiving, and recovery. Practices highlighted by the inaugural Index, including flexible schedules, remote work options, accommodations, phased return-to-work programs, and confidential human resources support, closely align with Blood Cancer United’s approach to employee care. Together, these efforts reflect the organization’s belief that compassion for employees and organizational excellence go hand in hand.
